HubSpot digital business cards

BeamHello gives your team branded digital business cards (web link, QR, NFC, Apple Wallet). When someone you meet taps Beam yours back on your card and shares their details, BeamHello creates or updates them as a Contact in your HubSpot portal. The cards carry your logo, not ours, and pricing is flat per org, never per seat.

What you need

  • A BeamHello account on the Team plan ($24/mo per org, up to 10 cards) or Agency plan ($99/mo, up to 1,000 cards and sub-orgs). Both start with a 14-day trial. See pricing.
  • A HubSpot account (any edition, including free CRM) and permission to install apps in that portal. HubSpot normally limits this to super admins and users with App Marketplace access.
  • At least one published BeamHello card in the org you connect.

Install and connect

  1. Sign in to BeamHello, or start a trial on Team or Agency.
  2. Click Connect HubSpot on this page or in the HubSpot App Marketplace. You can also go to Dashboard → Settings → Integrations → Connect HubSpot. If you manage several orgs, switch to the org you want first; each org connects to its own HubSpot portal.
  3. HubSpot asks you to sign in and choose a portal. Review the access listed below and click Connect app.
  4. You land back in BeamHello Settings, which shows Connected to your-portal.hubspot.com.
  5. Test it: open one of your cards on your phone, tap Beam yours back, submit a test name and email, and look the email up in HubSpot Contacts. The contact normally appears within a few seconds.

How it works

Each time someone submits the exchange form on a card in a connected org, BeamHello upserts a HubSpot Contact, matched by email. Recipients never sign up or install anything. Only new submissions sync. Exchanges from before you connected stay in your dashboard and CSV export.

Exchange form fieldHubSpot contact property
Email (required)email, used to match an existing contact
Name (required)firstname and lastname, split on the first space
Phonephone
Companycompany
Titlejobtitle

BeamHello writes only the fields the person filled in. Blank fields never clear existing values, and BeamHello never deletes or merges contacts.

Coming later: timeline events. We plan to add a BeamHello timeline event on each synced contact for Agency orgs once HubSpot makes app events available to BeamHello. Until then the integration syncs the contact only, and the person's note stays in your BeamHello dashboard and CSV export.

Access BeamHello requests

ScopeWhy
crm.objects.contacts.writeCreate or update the contact for each exchange.
crm.objects.contacts.readMatch an exchange to an existing contact by email instead of creating a duplicate, and keep the synced contact's id so your dashboard can show it as synced.
oauthRequired by HubSpot for every OAuth app.

These three are the only scopes BeamHello requests. It doesn't read deals, companies, emails, or other contacts, and doesn't buy, enrich, or resell contact data. Only the people who chose to share their details with you are synced. OAuth tokens are stored server-side and refreshed automatically. See the privacy policy.

Disconnect or uninstall

  1. In BeamHello, go to Dashboard → Settings → Integrations and click Disconnect. BeamHello deletes its stored HubSpot tokens immediately and stops syncing that org.
  2. To revoke access on HubSpot's side too, go to HubSpot Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps, open BeamHello and choose Uninstall.

Contacts BeamHello already created stay in HubSpot. They're your CRM records. You can reconnect any time with the same button.

Troubleshooting

  • You see an upgrade prompt instead of HubSpot. The account is on Free or Solo. HubSpot sync starts at Team.
  • HubSpot says you can't install apps. Ask a super admin in that portal to connect, or to give you App Marketplace access.
  • A test contact didn't appear. Check that Settings still shows Connected and that the card belongs to the org you connected. Then submit again with a new email. The exchange still appears in your BeamHello dashboard either way.

FAQ

Which BeamHello plans include the HubSpot integration?

Team ($24/mo, flat per org, up to 10 cards) and above. Every connected plan syncs contacts the same way. There are no per-seat or per-sync fees. Timeline events on the contact record are planned for Agency once HubSpot makes app events available to BeamHello; they are not part of the integration today.

Does the recipient need a BeamHello account?

No. The person you meet opens your card in their browser and fills in the Beam yours back form. They never sign up, install an app, or see a HubSpot screen.

Will BeamHello overwrite my existing HubSpot contacts?

Contacts are matched by email. If the email already exists, BeamHello updates only the fields the person filled in (name, phone, company, job title) and leaves every other property alone. It never deletes contacts.

Does BeamHello sync old exchanges after I connect?

No. Only exchanges submitted after the connection is live are sent to HubSpot. Earlier ones stay in your BeamHello dashboard and CSV export.

How do I uninstall the app?

Disconnect in BeamHello under Settings, Integrations. BeamHello deletes its stored tokens right away and stops syncing. Then remove the app in HubSpot under Settings, Integrations, Connected Apps to revoke the grant on HubSpot's side.
